Privacy and cookies

This site is a sales page for a single house. It processes as little about visitors as is practical. Here is exactly what does happen.

What the site does not do

There is no visitor analytics on this site: no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Matomo, no Facebook pixel. No visitor profiles are built and nothing is sold to third parties.

Fonts and video are served from this site’s own server, so nothing is fetched from Google Fonts or a video platform. There is no login, no account and no newsletter.

The contact form

The form on the homepage sends nothing to a server belonging to this site. It composes a message and opens your own mail program, and you send it yourself. What you type therefore stays in your own mailbox and then arrives at contact@villa235.com.

Incoming messages are used to answer your question and, where it comes to that, to handle a sale. They are not used for anything else and not passed to third parties, except where the sale requires it (for instance to the French notary). You can ask for your correspondence to be deleted at any time.

Third parties that do see something

Map: the interactive map in the surroundings section uses map tiles from CARTO (basemaps.cartocdn.com). The map only loads once you scroll to that part of the page. At that moment CARTO sees your IP address, as happens with any image requested from another server.

TradeTracker: the site carries the TradeTracker affiliate tag (tm.tradetracker.net), needed to recognise visitors referred by partner sites. That tag may set a cookie or identifier in order to attribute such a referral. It is the only tracking technique on the site.

Hosting: the site is hosted by TransIP in the Netherlands. Like every web server, it keeps technical logs containing the IP address, timestamp and requested page, for security and fault finding.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase data recorded about you, and to object to processing. A request can go to contact@villa235.com. Because no visitor records are kept, such a request in practice concerns the email correspondence between you and the owner.

Cookies your browser has already stored can be removed in your browser settings. The site, including the map and the language versions, does not need cookies to work.
